Donor Spotlight: Joy Leach

Joy Leach shares about how her personal growth has been shaped by Hudson:

I entered Hudson twenty years ago in the doldrums, confused about my capacity to influence my life, seemingly stuck in a pattern of achievement without a connection to passion or purpose. The pause and invitation to deeply reflect with caring listeners, great questions, and probing inquiry reignited my spirit and created a new path - actually a life Forward for me. It also taught me to approach life more from the inside out and value the opportunity to be with people in conversations that deeply matter. This purpose drives me to this day - connecting with others about things that deeply matter.

Joy Leach shares about the drive behind her donation to the Frederic Hudson Scholarship Program:

Having diverse thoughts, perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences in our Hudson cohorts is vitally important. We live in a world desperately in need of deep listening and acknowledgment of one another, and the only way to broaden our learning on this front is to include individuals who can bring light to bear on what others have not lived or seen. We must tap into different industries to influence life beyond spaces where coaching has traditionally thrived, into education, community services, social justice environments, etc.

Joy Leach speaks to the opportunities that have been unlocked for her since graduating from Hudson's Coach Certification Program:

I am a more curious, empathic human, less judgmental, less right, less clear on what I think and believe. I am more open to differing points of view and work to understand even when in deep conflict.

I am a better professional, mother, partner, friend, grandmother, colleague, sibling, and citizen because of my exposure to the principles I learned at Hudson.

The Frederic Hudson Scholarship Program thanks Joy Leach for being part of the Hudson community and for helping us in our mission to broaden access to adult learning.
